About Us
The scriptures were never meant to stay a mystery
Welcome to Iron Rod. We publish study editions of the scriptures for people who have read them faithfully for years and still felt like the meaning was just out of reach.
That gap is not a failure of faith. It is four-hundred-year-old English standing between a reader and a book they love. We started Iron Rod to close it.
The scripture is unchanged
Every word is exactly where it has always been. Nothing removed, nothing rewritten, nothing paraphrased.
What we add is explanation - the meaning of difficult words printed beside them, in brackets, so you always know what is scripture and what is a note. You never have to stop reading to work something out.
Written by a teacher, not a committee
The notes in The Book of Mormon Made Simple come from a man who spent thirty-five years teaching this book in the Church Educational System — seminary, institute, and BYU Campus Education Week. He wrote curriculum used in Sunday School and seminary classrooms. He has served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher, a bishop, a stake president, and a patriarch.
When he explains a verse, he is explaining it the way he explained it to students for three decades.
Our readers
We have had the privilege of serving readers across the United States and beyond — people who had skipped the same chapters for years and finally read them all the way through. Their letters are the reason we keep publishing.
If one of our editions does not bring you closer to the scriptures, tell us within thirty days and we will refund you in full. No reason needed.
We hope these books serve you the way they have served us.
